Although I've been to Vail many times, this was the first time I have ever gone snowshoeing! We went to Old Vail Pass in East Vail.
Getting to the trail itself was very easy. Probably because it used to be an old highway! Before I-70, highway 6 used to run through this way. To get to the trail, we parked at the end of the frontage road, and then walked to the unplowed area where the trail kind of began.
Of all the great places to ski in Colorado, Vail is one my all time favorites! The combination of a great mountain and a fun town makes it a good place to stay for a couple days.
Vail is more expensive than a lot of the other resorts, but the quality of the runs, to me, is worth it. And if you have an Epic pass, you don't even have to worry! You'll pay it off faster with less visits.
